Welcome to the Kansas Tactical Hapkido Academy. the KTHA was created by Jeff Brown, who is a Hapkido 1st degree black belt certified by the Tactical Hapkido Alliance under Grandmaster Barry Rodemaker, and a 1st degree black belt in Renzoku Jiu Jitsu under Soke John Cozatt, and certified by the SRMAA. Brown is the Kansas State Director for the Tactical Hapkido Alliance and the International Combatives Self Defense Association.

The KTHA is a Charter school with the Tactical Hapkido Alliance.

Our Goal is to unite Hapkido instead of following in the way of Politics, Ego's and Petty disputes that is so prevalent in the Hapkido world today. We avoid Hapkido associations who demonstrate hostility, jealousy, or those who forbid or discourage their members from joining and/or being ranked in other Hapkido associations. We welcome all Hapkido styles, and recognise and respect their Hapkido ranking in our school. After all, Hapkido is based on 5 basic locks, and the rest are just add ons, variations, and material put into the individual Hapkido Instructor's personal style. We base our Hapkido on the original vision of Choi, and teach Boo Chae, Pal Kum Chi, Yung Hang, Son Mok, Hei Jun in their limitless variations. Of course many will claim that there are thousands of Hapkido Techniques. We agree that there are thousands of potential variations, but the foundation locks are relatively few. The body can only move in so many directions. Our point being, if you have studied Hapkido in any of its various adaptations, chances will be that you are using at least the 5 basic Hapkido locks.

We are currently only conducting private classes by special appointment at this time.
